Bung Muan
Bung Muan, also known as Mount Serambu/Serembu (for the area) or Bukit Peninjau (for the villages at the base of the hill) is a 500 metre mountain in Bau, located about 30 minutes from Kuching, making it one of the most accesible but less well known hiking trails. It’s well known to be the site of the James Brooke Cottage, which the white rajah used as a highland retreat. His friend Russell Wallace even spent some time there. The hill/mountain itself was the ancestral home for the Bidayuh of the Serembu region, where they built longhouses. Now they’ve all moved to the base of the mountain into sperate villages.

Paku Rock Maze Garden
The rock maze, an extremely precious geological heritage situated at Paku Town, is formed after a long geological evolution. After entering through the narrow entrance, it is as if you are brought into a wonderland. The inside of the rock maze is formed by peculiar stones in dynamic shapes. The boulders grew wildly here after billions of years. Some boulders resemble dinosaurs whereas others resemble gorillas. A natural tropical maze is thus formed through the crisscrossing of rocks of all sizes and plants.
